Welcome November.

Geez. October is gone and according to the calendar staring at me on this computer, November is half way through as well. PLEASE SLOW DOWN, TIME. Christmas music is playing on the radio, Thanksgiving has masked all things Halloween, and somewhere in this chaotic mess is ME. Somewhere. I am not sure where I am. The last three months of each year fly by. Marty is usually very busy with work and it often feels he is never around (although that is not completely true). Halloween starts off great for us as it is a favorite holiday in this family. Thanksgiving is usually is a blur because I am a southern girl who loves to eat, just not cook. I don’t “jazzy” up Turkey Day. We’ve had many different styles of Thanksgiving in this house, but all have been rather quiet and simple. Christmas is more commercialized than traditional around here. We hop from house to house each year. By the end of the evening, I am exhausted, out of batteries (literally), my fingers have paper/plastic cuts on them and I am ready for the kids to go to sleep. NONE OF THIS IS FUN. I miss the holidays being like a Publix commercial. I miss the meaning of them – FAMILY TIME.

I guess I better get my butt in gear and start prepping my pants for Turkey Day. But for now, here are a few photos from Halloween. If you are curious, it was one of my favorite ones. We had 8 adults and 7 kids at my house either handing out candy or trick-o-treating!
