You Won’t Believe This Weekend in Savannah! I have had a great weekend with the kids and friends. If you have been around since my photography business days, then you would understand my LOVE-HATE relationship with Savannah.
You Won’t Believe This Weekend in Savannah!
Friday night was the 25th Anniversary of the Savannah River Boat company! They celebrated on the Georgia Queen! She is the newest to their fleet and is the largest of her type of vessel in the U.S. She can hold 1,000 passengers on her three stories and is incredibly beautiful.
I have been around these riverboats almost my entire life. If you are a Savannahian then you know that the Riverboats are us.
Who are these good looking people? Well besides me is Marty (my numero uno of 15 years), my best friend and her husband. They are the reason we were invited. It helps when your friends are in the film production industry!
We wrapped up the evening at Savannah’s very own Speak Easy – Mata Hari. It also helps when the same friends have a key to get into this private (and often kept secret) club!
OCEARCH is docked in Savannah at River Street!
I saw her last night when we departed the River Boat and was excited. I was even more excited when I found out that there would be tours on the vessel from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday. The Bees, Marty, and I grabbed lunch and headed down to the river. She is cool looking at night and even more so in the daylight!
This could not have been timed any better. Rea is in the middle of a unit study on Marine Science at her homeschool co-op. Bubba had a few questions for the staff and we were all impressed. Since I was so impressed, I will have more on OCEARCH this week! So please come back for that post. While you wait, check out their website and social media sites. You can catch their LIVE Facebook video and see us.
And then there was Vera Bradley? We walked past their photo shoot and the stylist gave the girls mini bags from the new Spring 2017 line. Thank you, sweet woman! You made my girl’s day with the Cuban Stamps and Cuban Tiles. Side note- my Bees are half Cuban, so it was special.
