Turkey Day is upon us people! Turkey Day Equals Stretchy Pants! I am not sure if I will wear my LuLaRoe leggings (those are stretchy pants if you don’t know) OR a pair of jeans that I can leave unbuttoned under my non-fitted t-shirt! Get your stretchy pants on & enjoy your company!
To all my family and friends, I love you. If I can’t be with you at your table this year, just know I am thinking about what I would eat if I were there. I would also steal the Black Friday ads when you weren’t looking.
This year, I plan on taking the Bees to the Cracker Barrel. No pity please, but this mama doesn’t want a hassle. Yes, I am lazy. I prefer NOT to work on the holiday in the kitchen, yet devour all the deliciousness. This is the second time (maybe 3rd), that I will be dining at the Cracker Barrel on Turkey Day. The first time was when we were stuck on I-95S headed to Orlando. We never made it but stopped at a Cracker Barrel in Jacksonville. Then went shopping. It was a win-win.
Traditions aren’t very popular in my family anymore. My immediate (and close cousins) family has dwindled down to almost no one. It’s sad but it’s okay. Last year we spent our Turkey Day in Miami. I love my Cuban family (in-laws). They celebrate differently than I am used to so it’s always an experience I don’t forget.
If you are alone this year, working, or simply don’t have the funds to celebrate, please reach out to someone! No one should spend Thanksgiving alone. Or any day for that matter. Tomorrow, the Bees and I will get to chat with the person who will be serving us and I hope to be able to bring a smile to his or her face. If you know anyone that may be alone this year, reach out. Send a text or make a call. No one ever wants to impose so maybe they are truly waiting for your call.
Spread the kindness!
P.S. If you see me tomorrow, don’t mention the unbuttoned pants. Just smile and nod. My Bees may never let me live it down!
