We are an adventurous family of 5, experiencing the world around us!
Marty is Dad! He is the logistical king of our trips. I come up with a road trip and he details it out. He also gets us there safely and is the best all around.
Stacy (that’s me) is Mom and blogger! I usually come up with the crazy trip ideas and get them booked.
Bubba is our oldest and only boy! He rocks as a brother and is up for all our adventures.
Rea is our middle child. She loves to write about our adventures and thinks our camper is her doll house.
KB is our baby and full of spunk. She likes to hike but often wants a ride on our shoulders!
Meet Rocky! She’s been with us since April 2016. She is a 2016 Coachmen Clipper 1285SST.
We’ve put 20k miles on her already.
You’re a family of 5, why a pop-up camper?
Years ago we owned a 26 foot travel trailer. It was great but then the fuel prices surged to $4.00 a gallon and it wasn’t smart to keep her. So we sold that RV and bought a boat.
But why a pop up? We were in D.C. (March 2016) for the Cherry Blossom Festival. I made a comment to Marty about having an RV for our trips to Miami to see family. This pop up appeared at a dealership and we were able to negotiate a really good deal. This RV is 21 feet long with the 3 slides out. It fits perfect under the tropical shade trees at my mother-in-law’s house in Miami. If we had anything bigger, it wouldn’t work. As for vacations, we’ve done 2 cross country road trips (one to Mount Rushmore and one to Yellowstone/the Big 5 in Utah), 1 trip to Cocoa Beach, and 3 trips to Miami.
Who is Stacy?
I’m a professional photographer turned homeschool mom. I’ve worked for amazing clients and even photographed the 44th President of the U.S. and Air Force One. The 2008 election year landed me in front of many prominent politicians – Romney, Palin, etc. as a freelance photographer. I have an addiction to traveling. When I’m not traveling or teaching, you can find me relaxing in the sun by the pool or at the beach.
I’m a true southerner with an accent that Siri can’t understand half the time. “Bless her heart!” Marty (my husband), the 3 Bees, and I, live in the South but our home away from home is in our camper, wherever we park it. Fun Fact- I write about 90% of the blog posts.
Side note- I am a lover of all things The Office. Life can be quoted and referenced back to The Office, always.
is a board game connoisseur and sometimes photographer. He owns his own consulting company which gives our family large quantities of time to travel. Marty is a “co-manager” (joke from The Office) with me in our homeschooling journey and he loves to travel just as much as I do (but he tends to travel more).
Marty was born and raised in Miami, Florida. Since he is fluent in multiple languages, he won me over with his accent. If you’re curious, we met in a coffee shop and eloped 5 months later.
Together, we have traveled over 30 countries, 46 states, and 5 continents, but Marty will always tell you the best country to explore is the U.S.A.
