Woot! Woot! It’s November. Drum-roll, please … My November Birthday Shout Out goes to my sister! She’s 40. I’m just kidding, although I did think she was turning 39.
Yesterday (Halloween), I was driving to the house with the bees when I realized that my sister’s birthday is upon us. They quickly asked me how old she was to which I stated – 39. She is not 39. Oh hell no! That means I am older than I really am, and well, NO!
She is actually 37. Happy 37th Birthday! Let me say it again, Happy 3 – 7 !! Why is this that big of an issue? Well, I thought I was Marty’s age for a brief minute. He isn’t old by any means but I quickly added a couple of years to my life without realizing it. Usually, I go backward not forwards. What the heck is wrong with me?
Please give a November Birthday Shout Out to N.V.!
Hahahaha, her initials are N.V., like envy. How have I not realized that before now? They’ve been together for about 20 years, good geez.
In other news, she is a great sister who doesn’t mind listening to me vent. It does bother me when I go on and on with a story for her to tell me, “Oh, not to cut you off, but we are in the middle of a movie.” Oh for the love of Pete, why didn’t you say that 12 minutes ago? It’s not like I am going to forget what has me ticked off or baffled. Most of my conversations with her are either about the kids, our whack-o-doodle (extended) family, or the bizarre things I see around town.
She understands my car’s desire to hit random wildlife. A few years ago, an owl flew into the side of my car. My brother-in-law came and helped me scoop it into a box. We took it to a local vet’s office for DNR to pick up. While on the phone with her the other day, I almost hit a Crane (the bird, not the piece of construction equipment). I’ve also seen a baby pig while heading to her house to get the bees. Seriously, I see some very random things while driving. They always make her smile, or at least I imagine she is smiling.
Happy, Happy Birthday!
Over the years, we have grown closer and I miss her. She hasn’t lived near me since I was 18, but she did move back for about 2 years. Then one day she found the perfect home in south Florida and moved away. I miss her living here. It’s probably because she fed me and my crew all the time. By “all the time”, I mean almost nightly.
Happy Birthday! 40, 39, 37 …
