Happiness is Pascal’s Wager and Kindness. I try not to talk about my faith too much on my blog because it is a personal thing. Don’t get me wrong. I will talk to others about my belief in God and Jesus but I am not as outgoing about it as my friends.
The past few days have been stressful with the kids. I don’t know why they insist on fighting but it is driving me bananas y’all. I told Marty I need to take a vacation for a few days from them and the fighting.
Anywho. Pascal’s Wager. What is it? With all my really foul moods about certain things and the stress of the kids, Marty reminded me about Pascal’s Wager. Pascal’s Wager is (and this is Marty’s text to me)
“If you live like there is a god and when you die there is, then you have an infinity to win. If you live like there isn’t a god, and there is, you have an infinity to lose. If you live like there is and it happens that there isn’t a god, you just lived a good life and you win either way”. How does that apply?
I have a great life. For the last 14 years, Marty and I have been building our relationship and life together. We aren’t perfect. We fail in many ways. However, we do have a great life and are blessed. When I get in my funky moods I lose sight of that. And for me with God and Jesus, I just try to live by the Golden Rule. Do Unto Others As You’d Have Them Do Unto You. And love your neighbor. That latter one is difficult. I am not talking about my literal neighbors but loving others is sometimes hard to do. So yeah, love your neighbors. Be kind to everyone. And God will bless you (whatever God you believe in).
