Happiness Is Costa Rica with Marty. For our 14th wedding anniversary, we took off to Costa Rica. When we decided to go there, we were determined to relax. So off to the mountains we went in central Costa Rica. Happiness is Costa Rica. Seriously.
Marty and I had the best time. We didn’t actually relax but in comparison to our past trips, we did. It was nice to sleep with the windows and balcony door open. We listened to the rain at night and the constant birds chirping in the morning. The air was crisp enough to start the fireplace, well all the time.
The pool outside our room was exquisite. I would lean against the side of the pool and stare at the back side of Poas Volcano. The clouds would roll in and the rain would fall. It was almost magical. The rain did not ruin the trip or my happiness. I was truly happy there. I miss it.
I say Happiness Is Costa Rica but to be honest, it’s really just being with Marty. We have a lot of fun together and we grow as a couple. He does some of the craziest things and doesn’t think twice about it. He makes me laugh. He always, always, knows how to make me laugh.
My Finding Happiness journal to #write31days has been eye-opening in more ways than I thought. I’m beginning to see what makes me temporarily happy and consistently happy. I hope you are on this journey with me for yourself too. Happiness doesn’t come easy. It really doesn’t. I know I have to work at being genuinely happy and it shouldn’t be like that. Please continue with me.
