Goodreads – Good Books. I have recently become drawn to the Goodreads website. I have been a “member” for quite some time but I never did anything on the site. While I was updating my blog, I seen a widget for Goodreads. That lead to a rabbit hole. So here I am, writing about my Goodreads.
I teach an elective class at our co-op and it’s all about reading the book and watching its movie. The class kicked off reading for me over the summer. I started with Mr. Popper’s Penguins and moved on to Soul Surfer. Hatchet was a page turner and Diary of a Wimpy Kid made me laugh. Then I moved on to adult books.
You Before Me was a tear-jerker. I rented it from the library and it came in large print format. Thankfully it did because I would have had a hard time reading through the tears had it not. Once I finished that one I needed to continue the journey and read After You. More tears but not has many this time. Jojo Moyes really knows how to get you in the “feels”.
The Girl on the Train sent me on a wild ride that I couldn’t put it down. Luckily for me, Marty didn’t mind that I was reading so much because he enjoys reading beside me on the couch. Gone Girl was next. I was so upset with that book. The characters just made me mad. I wanted to hurt them for their arrogance and selfishness.
One day I was in Wal-Mart and there were these little “Book Shots”. I’ve read some James Patterson before so I was intrigued. I read each of these in an hour; Little Black Dress, Let’s Play Make-Believe, The Trial, and Chase. I added the other two by him, Sam’s Letters to Jennifer and Suzanne’s Diary for Nicholas because they were good reads as well. As for Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, well I am reading that now. It’s a page turner itself but I find myself distracted these days. I blame the new puppy we have.
What are you reading right now? What do you recommend? I am always looking for a new book to check out so please let me know!
