Oh for the love of extracurricular activities. When you start planning your families, you never think about all the extra stuff they will want to do. For example, team sports like baseball, football, soccer, or basketball. You forget about martial arts, swimming, dance, gymnastics, and cheering. With each child comes their own desires.
These bees have me all over the place. Seriously. This week we started dance. For BOTH girls. This meant that Bubba was stuck in a dance studio with a bunch of girls. His Kindle was dead. Homework only took but so long. Yeah, he was annoyed.
I lost my train of thought… okay.
I tend to forget that KB has a speech issue. I just don’t see it as an issue. Maybe I should. Tonight, I had to explain why she probably wasn’t as verbal as the other girls. It’s not that she didn’t want to be, I am sure she did. It was weird…explaining the whole Apraxia issue. Then I realized it wasn’t bad. As all the little ones (aged 2-3) are being 2 and 3, KB is working hard on her dance steps. She was doing exactly as instructed. I would assume it’s because she understands so well. The brain is such a powerful and interesting organ. While she may struggle to talk, she listens and does as she’s told (especially from someone other than me).
