Finding your Way in Homeschool – Schedule. {o.h.l.-Our Homeschool Life}

Homeschool is no joke. We have AMAZING days and we have AWFUL days. Those are the only adjectives I can think of without going too far. I know I am not alone in this, but I feel alone. Iron Bee is a wonderful son and very well behaved. However, he knows which buttons to push behind closed doors when it is just us. Every kid does, I understand that. I just wish that the sweet, wonderful, and well behaved boy that shines in front of my friends would be like that 80% of the time with me. The schedule we had was okay, but it isn’t working anymore. He isn’t taking me serious anymore. Most days I spend being upset or getting loud with him. Both of those are not fun. I don’t want him growing up thinking that I screamed all the time. I do not want to be that mom. No, No, No. Today, I sat down. I was alone in my room with no one to bother me. The baby was asleep, Princess and Iron Bee were watching a movie together. This is the new schedule I made. After writing it out, I told him that it was final. He was to obey me as a parent and a teacher. He was to follow the schedule because if he didn’t, all the fun things would go. Please note that my days are so crazy with the back and forth to Princess Bee’s preschool, that I do not list times. We start as soon as we can each day.

  1. I work with a girl who was home schooled and she’s told me a lot about it. I think it takes a lot of dedication and sticking to a schedule. Looks like you’ve got a good one worked out.

    • Thanks Krysten. I hope so. We are very new to it (switched due to my husband’s job and the public school system decline here) but I hope it goes well. I figured it will take a while to get into a groove but it will be good. Thanks for accepting me on the sponsorship. Love your blog.

  2. Looks like you have a schedule that works for you and that’s what’s important! We do our best to stick to a schedule and get most of our work done in the mornings. Some days are better than others, and it has definitely been a learning experience! We do spelling, math, language, and bible daily. Science on tues/thurs and social studies on mon/wed. But of course this is all subject to change! We’re tweaking our curriculum and changing it up. Happy homeschooling!
